Introduction
The EM-Tec high purity metal SEM substrate discs are intended as substrate discs for X-ray analysis with EDS / WDS or for particle analysis with the SEM. Especially useful when the standard aluminium or copper alloy stubs generate overlapping background peaks. With the right metal substrate, trace elements in particles can be enhanced through X-ray fluorescence. The EM-Tec high purity metals discs are available in 12 and 25mm diameter and are compatible with the popular Ø12.5mm and Ø25mm diameter SEM stubs. They can be attached to the SEM stubs with carbon tabs, carbon paint or silver paint.
Features of the EM-Tec high purity SEM metal substrate discs are:
- Available materials are: Ag, Al, Co, Cu, Fe, In, Mg, Mo, Nb, Ni, Pb, Sn, Ti and Zn
- Purity 99.99% or better
- Sizes are Ø12 and Ø25 mm, compatible with popular SEM stubs
- Thickness range from 0.08 to 0.3mm
- Surface condition: smooth rolled foil
