Introduction
The EM-Tec stainless vacuum thread adapters allow for connecting standard NW/KF vacuum hardware onto installed vacuum lines, pipes, fittings and machines. We offer three different types of KF/NW thread adapters:
- BSPT (British Standard Pipe) thread. It is a tapered thread (BSPT) and the diameter or size is denoted by the letter R which relates to the internal pipe diameter. The flank angle is 55 degrees. BSPT (tapered) is not compatible with BSPP (G) thread.
- NPT (National Pipe Taper) thread. NPT is defined by ANSI/ASME (American) standard B1.20.1. It is a tapered thread with a flank angle of 60 degrees. The diameter or size related to the internal diameter of the pipe. NPT thread is not compatible with BSP thread.
- Metric thread is a fine parallel thread either M20 or M14 with a pitch of 1.5mm. It is an ISO metric thread with a flank angle of 60 degrees. The female metric thread adapters are used for connecting pressure gauges.
